PRESENTATION OF BABA BEDI XVI

Daughter of inspiration, the beauty of Pietro Gentili’s paintings leaves you breathless. The aura of this beauty was projected by him, being an esoteric astrologer, in revealing the identity, nature and vibrational emanations of the entities of nature and planets.

It was the voice of the mystic heart of Einstein, a scientific celebrity, which confirmed that “a human being is not a human being until he does not feel the state of wonder”. Pietro Gentili deeply feels the sacredness of this sublime state.

PIETRO GENTILI and BABA BEDI XVI

During the evolutionary and brilliant friendship between the Artist and the Indian philosopher Baba Bedi XVI (1909-1993), who from 1972 lived in Italy, a type of singular and unique collaboration was born. Baba Bedi XVI proposed to Pietro Gentili some hypotheses on which the Artist realised pictorial works that could only be interpreted through the philosophy (known as Aquarian Philosophy) of this Author of contemporary thought. The Philosopher greatly desired these works to be carried out by the Artist and, as Pietro himself says: “I really couldn’t say no to Baba!”

The first of these works was the portrait of the mystic Baba Nanak, founder of the Sikh religion. Baba Bedi XVI asked Pietro Gentili to avoid any effort to bear resemblance to the already existing iconography, but to let the image of the mystic emerge from the canvas. Every perplexity of the Artist towards this creation disappeared.
The series of drawings in 1979 for the study that Baba Bedi XVI brought to conclusion on “Vibrational Centres” is quite complex: a new vision of the nature and structure of the chakra. At the beginning, Baba Bedi asked the Artist to draw shapes and colours basing himself on the visualisations that the Philosopher had carried out. The series continued and, with the encouragement of Baba Bedi XVI, was completed by the visualisations of Pietro Gentili himself.
Some reproductions of these drawings are in Baba Bedi XVI’s book “Consciousness, the Eye of the Soul” published in 1991.

In the study conventions on Aquarian Philosophy, Baba Bedi XVI always presented Pietro Gentili as the “Cosmic Artist”, namely the Intermediary for the Vitalities that from the Cosmos arrive on Earth. In the themes of his conferences Pietro Gentili exposed some theoretical passages on the poetics of his Art and his Life. These texts were published in the magazine “La Risonanza” created and directed by Baba Bedi XVI.

After Baba Bedi XVI had entered the Afterlife, in 1993 Pietro Gentili helped the Institute for Aquarian Pedagogy to document the great work that he carried out together with the Philosopher during the ‘70s and ‘80s. In this current phase, the Artist in fertile collaboration with the Aquarian Sophocles Theatre, which applies the principles of Psychic Art formulated and proposed by Baba Bedi XVI, is present in the visual and scenic works of art (“Paradigma” - 2003) in a new creative atmosphere.
